Duplex és superduplex varratmentes csövek
A duplex és szuper duplex acélból készült csövek szakítószilárdsága sokkal nagyobb, mint a hagyományos ausztenites acélokból készült csöveké. A duplex acél legnagyobb hátránya az, hogy az anyagban magasabb hőmérsékleten törékeny fázisok válhatnak ki. Az ilyen megjelenő fázisok negatívan befolyásolják az anyag korrózióállóságát illetve rontja az acél formálhatóságát.

Duplex tube:
Duplex pipes in stainless steels have a mixed microstructure of austenite and ferrite, the aim usually being to produce a 50/50 mix, although in commercial alloys the ratio for duplex tubes may be 40/60.
Super duplex tube:
Super duplex is a duplex stainless steel where pitting corrosion equivalent (PRE) > 40, and PRE = %Cr (Chromium) + 3.3x(%Mo Molybdenum + 0.5x% W Wolfram) + 16x%N Nitrogen.
